Introducing the Miele Care Collection

Miele, the German makers of high-end appliances, has launched the Miele Care Collection, a line of high-efficiency specialty detergents. Miele is no stranger to laundry care, though. They have a highly successful line of washing machines and clothes dryers, and have imported Henkel detergents to the U.S. for years. Today, however, they have begun manufacturing their own detergents for fabric care in the Miele Care Collection.  Also included in this collection is a line of Dishwasher agents for cleaning and maintaining your dishwasher while producing perfectly cleaned dishware.  As Miele has become more popular with their high-efficiency dishwashers, the demand for quality dishwashing solutions has also been met by this revolutionary company in the Care Collection.

On the laundry side, Miele has three specialty detergents:  UltraWhite, UltraColor, and Sensitive Skin along with solutions for softening, delicates, outdoor, sportwear, and down fabrics.  For dishwashing solutions, Miele offers a unique three-layer tablet in an eco-friendly packaging that dissolves in water along with rinse aid, hard water salt, machine conditioners and fresheners.

All Miele Care Collection laundry detergents are made from biodegradable ingredients without phosphates or zeolites.  The Miele Collection is composed of highly concentrated solutions, so you only need a small amount of detergent for optimal cleaning performance.  These detergents are created with high-efficiency machines in mind and the perfect choice for anyone with an HE appliance, not just a Miele appliance.  HE detergents also means no pre-washing for dish-ware and less re-washing and chemical additives to remove laundry stains in order to save water and energy.

For further, detailed information, see below for explanations of each line of detergents included in the new Miele Care Collection.

The Battle of Stain Removal

Discovering a stain on your favorite piece of clothing or furniture is never good news. There are many stain removal options, some green and some not, but with all stains it is important to tackle the problem as soon as possible. Stains that have time to set in the fabric are much harder to remove, and often require harsh chemicals.
Most stains are removed by dissolving them with a solvent. The solvent to use depends from two factors: the agent that is causing the stain, and the material that has been stained. Different solvents will dissolve different stains, and the application of some solvents is limited by the fact that they not only dissolve the stain, but also dissolve the material that is stained and could then damage the material.
Another concern for removing stains from fabric is color. Some stain removal agents will not only dissolve the stain but will dissolve the dye that is used to color the material. Because of this, it is important to know what sort of material you’re dealing with and the best safe stain removal you need to apply.
